On the line to Békéscsaba, between Tiszatenyő and Mezőtúr, at Kétpó, they are still working on technical rescue, lifting derailed cars and restoring the track. Therefore, trains are yet not allowed to run on that section. The running time of trains on the Budapest-Újszász-Szolnok-Békéscsaba-Lőkösháza line will increase significantly. Replacement buses transport passengers between Törökszentmiklós and Mezőtúr stations.
Until further notice the following changes can be expected:
- Domestic and international trains are divided between Budapest-Keleti and Szolnok, and between Mezőtúr and Békéscsaba/Arad/Bucharest/Brașov/Timișoara.
➡ Passengers heading to Békéscsaba can travel from Szolnok to Debrecen-bound InterCity and InterRegio trains to Törökszentmiklós station. A replacement bus runs between Törökszentmiklós and Mezőtúr stations.
➡ Passengers heading towards Budapest can travel between Mezőtúr and Törökszentmiklós with a replacement bus, and from Törökszentmiklós to Szolnok, or from Szolnok to the Keleti railway station, they can continue with a connecting train. - Those traveling to the Tiszatenyő station can travel from/to Szolnok with trains from Szentes.
- InterCity trains can be used between Budapest-Keleti and Lőkösháza without seat reservation.
- The Nyírség, Tokaj and Latorca InterCity trains stop at Törökszentmiklós in both directions, and can be used between Szolnok and Debrecen without having a seat reservation.
- No. 346 Dacia international train between Bucharest and Vienna goes on a detour route via Teius - Cluj-Napoca - Oradea - Szolnok.
- No. 347 Dacia international train between Vienna and Bucharest goes on a detour route via Szolnok - Oradea - Cluj-Napoca - Teius.
International passengers are advised to leave Budapest at least one hour earlier in order to reach the appropriate train for their destination at Mezőtúr due to multiple transfers.
