The Zemplén with its lesser-known, but excellent cycling routes has expanded its cycling transport options. One part of the Hernád-Zemplén InterCity train (Zemplén IC) which runs in every two hours from Budapest-Keleti via Miskolc to Szerencs, Sárospatak and Sátoraljaújhely offers 16 bicycle spaces. This will also make it possible to explore the cycle paths built in Tokaj-Hegyalja and Hegyköz - the latter following the route of the former Hegyköz railway. The other part of the train (Hernád IC) runs along the Hernád Valley, from where you can discover famous sights and villages on two wheels such as Boldogkő or Regéc castle, Vizsoly or Gönc. You can also explore the Hollóház porcelain factory and the castle of Füzér, or the Telki mine (famous for its medieval gold mines) and then reach Sátoraljaújhely. You can take your bicycle by train internationally to Košice (6 seats) from where you can explore the more remote parts of Slovakia.
